Iam directed by the Lords of the Committee of Pring Council for Trade tracknowledge the receipt of to. tephens letter of the 11 th Juttting transmitting for the counderation of My Lords, copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Hingting reporting a change in the system of farming Opium in that Colony, and Enclosing recried regulations protre sale of that Article by means of Licences, and I am tostate, that My Lords see no reason of a purely commercial character for objecting to the alterations which Sir John Dans has Effected in the Opium Licence System. Those alterations appear calculated toreduce the legitimate price of the Article, and so Brucourage. Merivale Espe
